For a drow, life is devotion. Like the Children of the Eldar the drow developed within the strange realm of The Fey Wild. Under the constant watch of their chosen goddess, The Lady of Chains, the drow grew into the race they are today. The Lady of Chains demands complete devotion from those that serve her will and the drow not only serve their goddess but are considered her chosen ones. A drow does all the same things that someone of another race does but everything has a ritual tied to it. Since their arrival in Kylvincast, the drow have not made as large an impact as their elven cousins. The only real influence that has been seen upon the world at large that concerns the drow is the increase in worshippers to The Lady of Chains and this may be the only impact the drow intend to make.
In general, drow are extremely analytical and would rather hang back and understand all aspects of a situation before getting involved. When drow do act, they act with precision and confidence always completely confident in their chosen course. A drow on a mission is a frightening thing to behold, more single-minded and focused than anyone of another could ever understand.

Physical Description: Drow are similar in stature to humans but share the slender build and features of elves, including the distinctive long, pointed ears. Their eyes lack pupils and are usually solid white or red. Drow skin ranges from coal black to a dusky purple. Their hair is typically white or silver, though some variation is not unknown. A drow’s appearance is meticulously designed to present information to those that understand what they are looking for. Dress, hairstyle, and posture all relate information to an onlooker. The most sacred adornment to drow appearance is the ritualistic scars that adorn their bodies. Most drow choose to hide their scars from outsiders eyes with clothing, which is why many drow remain almost completely covered even in warm climates. The chemicals used in the scarification process permanently dye the drow’s skin in a range of colors giving an artistic look to the finished product. Some chemical even change the look of a drows skin when seen through darkvision. Other races who have seen a drow’s scars have made the comparison to tattoo’s but they do not understand the ritualistic symbolism inherent in the process and a drow would never correct this mistake.

Society: Drow society is completely centered around ritualistic devotion. For those dedicated to the Lady of Chains, everything is a ritual. Eating, sleeping, fighting, breeding, everything is to be done in the correct manner and with the correct ritual.

Lands: Drow have no lands of their own nor do they seem interested in claiming any. They mostly reside within the walls of the cities of The Elven Federation.

Religion/Mysticism: Drow represent the extreme of deific devotion. Almost all drow worship their fey goddess The Lady of Chains. While only a few drow can claim to be a Cleric of their chosen mistress all drow believe that any power granted to them is through her will, no matter if its arcane or divine.

Relations: Drow find it difficult to deal with all other races. They see others as undisciplined and unreliable while the other races look upon their extreme dedication as strange and sometimes frightening. Drow tend to interact the best with elves and strix as their fey heritage gives them a link, even if they are undevoted.

Drow Racial Traits

+2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, –2 Constitution: Drow are nimble and manipulative but not very hardy.
Size: Drow are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
Type: Drow are humanoids with the elven subtype.
Normal Speed: Drow have a base speed of 30 feet.
Superior Darkvision: Drow have superior Darkvision, allowing them to see perfectly in the dark up to 120 feet.
Keen Senses: Drow receive a +1 racial bonus on Perception checks.
Elven Immunities: Drow are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects.
Spell Resistance: Drow possess spell resistance (SR) equal to 6 plus their total number of class levels.
Spell-Like Abilities (Su): Drow can cast dancing lights, darkness, and faerie fire, once each per day, using their total character level as caster level.
Weapon Familiarity: Drow are proficient with the hand crossbow and rapier; and treat any weapon with the word “drow” in its name as a martial weapon.
Languages: Drow begin play speaking Common and Drow.
